Access, usage and influence of mass media on students’ academic performance: A private university experience

Previous studies on the influence of mass media students’ academics are common, but none relating to private missionary schools with core values such as these has been rigorously evaluated. To determine medium accessible students, examine purpose usage and academic performance triangulated research design was adopted use quantitative data through questionnaire qualitative in-depth interview. The sampling technique stratified random sampling. framework utilized is Uses & Gratifications theory. A number significant findings firstly access mediums contents influenced by University Christian values. Secondly, almost all respondents perceived internet most useful communication connect their friends families. Thirdly, a students were dependent solely for purpose. Finally, also had an important in performance. Students should develop good reading habits; be designed line needs, interests, aspirations both audience (students) society (university). Another contribution that educational institutions, academicians well enterprises familiarize changing technologies, policy will impact student it affects academics.
